Wow, people are soooo over the top. I was expecting a hard smash. She knew it was coming and didn’t move? So then, instead of talking it out with a counselor, she cries to her dad and publicly shames him.
This is just what’s wrong with society. Everyone wants to make themselves a victim. To say “she was soo hurt by this” while comments are “divorce him immediately,” and I’m sure theirs some women on her calling their exs a “narcissist” bc everything is always the man’s fault.

This just baffles me and both of them shouldn’t have had a kid. People are on here shaming this man for what he prob thought was an innocent playful thing since the woman dabbed the boy with icing. I’ve also never heard of cake smashing on the 1st birthday. What if this guy is a hardworking, good father who provides his family with everything and a cake smash is what she used to get the world to call him slanderous names. “Well, this is how it starts.” No. It doesn’t. Not every relationship is abusive. Sometimes ppl just read the room wrong.
A mature person handles it like this: hey, in front of our friends and family, u smashed our son’s cake in my face. I said no. It not only felt hurtful but u crossed a personal boundary that I didn’t appreciate. Can u explain why u thought this was okay when I said no? This way, in the future we can prevent a situation that I’m serious about.
This is how my husband and I communicate bc we LEARNED and GREW together after forgetting that we are 2 separate ppl who dislikes and likes that we need to navigate around. NOT PUBLIC SHAMING and not going to ur in-laws. Wow.
