China dominating the EV market is only a small thing to worry about. Their energy storage technology and rare earth element supply chain is WAAAY more advanced than the West, which is the future of civilisation as we know it.

The washing machine analogy is extremely stupid. It is not in any way valid or useful.

Tesla is missing a 365 day a year CEO. Elon has too many other businesses and interests to deliver as CEO compared to the dedicated management of BYD. How can you out innovate a dedicated CEO when you're a government advisor and CEO of six other businesses?

@WilliamDuffy-b7y April 7, 2025 - 2:14 pm

BYD is much more honorable than Tesla. Period.

@thunderthunder9251 April 7, 2025 - 2:14 pm

I do not like EVs but if I one day decided to buy one, it will be BYD!

@billyponsonby April 7, 2025 - 2:14 pm

Range anxiety is a boomer phenomenon. It will pass as they do.

@oladayopopoola-e6h April 7, 2025 - 2:14 pm

BYD stole Tesla design.

@ZotThithmaKarin April 7, 2025 - 2:14 pm

I'm definitely not saying that byd is bad but this channel CNBC is absolutely anti Tesla because they never got the penny from Tesla but they do get from byd and every other manufacturer and that's why they hate Tesla because it's not there milk cow

@yonatanchapal7800 April 7, 2025 - 2:14 pm

But even then, if the max speed is 1000kw in means that 300kw is a lot less than is max capacity and it can charge at 300 for a larger percentage of the charge

Innovation.. i love China
I love innovators, doers, those with actions

@vickyjishtu1596 April 7, 2025 - 2:14 pm

China is ferociously competetive spends so much more on local talents & solid R&D…greatness is inherent😮

@D3Sshooter April 7, 2025 - 2:14 pm

That is total BS, you can't charge a battery in 5 minutes: Here is why- Take a 60KWatt/hr battery. That is 60.000 Watts over one hour. Assume that you have a 220V outlet at home single phase… that means you will need Amps = 60.000/220V or 273 Amps during one hour !!! . If we got a 3 Phase 220V outlet , it is still 60 Amps per phase during one hour. In five minutes , that would be 12*60Amps or 720 Amps per phase. Total impossible in a normal house where one gets max 3*40 Amps at 220V.. Let alone that everybody would charge in five minutes in your town or street. Network Infra Cables nor transformers (up or down) can handle this demand. Thus , this is total BS

CNBC is Elon & Trump bad! George Soros good. What a joke CNBC is Elon is a Genius don’t bet against a Genius. FAAFO! CNBC is a joke!

@JamesJangmaw April 7, 2025 - 2:14 pm

Throw back to when Hitlon Musk make joke of BYD😂😂😂

@Muzikrazy213 April 7, 2025 - 2:14 pm

Its now 11pm I desperately need to do my taxes and I'm here learning about the arms race of EVs that I will absolutely never be able to afford in my life.

@SigFigNewton April 7, 2025 - 2:14 pm

The funny thing is that being able to fill up in a similar amount of time isn’t necessary for EVs to be the superior option for time savings. Being able to fill up at home rather than being forced to waste time going to a gas station is the true time comparison.

@SDav21 April 7, 2025 - 2:14 pm

The way they underestimate the Chinese is funny. The Chinese have done many things everyone else thought was not possible. In South Africa, the Chinese carmakers are taking over the market because the quality is amazing, they're packed with features and cost close to half the price of legacy cars.

@tarlyn_claddath April 7, 2025 - 2:14 pm

American living in Australia and have owned a BYD Atto 3 for almost 2 years…..easily the best car I have ever owned…….build quality super high as I had to tear much of it apart when installing custom audio gear.

@tarlyn_claddath April 7, 2025 - 2:14 pm

Keep in mind 80-90% of most people's charging needs are done at home overnight and spending zero time waiting anywhere but for those who more regularly make longer trips or can't charge at home this will be great to have.

@ikmarchini April 7, 2025 - 2:14 pm

BYD banned in the USA. The old rotten oak is about to fall.

@SwaggerCanada April 7, 2025 - 2:14 pm

CNBC 🤡🤡🤡 pro-Chinese.

@xXSauceBawsXx April 7, 2025 - 2:14 pm

they forgot to mention the battery replacement stations, where you dont charge the ev but just swap the battery

@GameFuMaster April 7, 2025 - 2:14 pm

The real quesiton is, what is the life span of an electric vehicle,

@519achilles April 7, 2025 - 2:14 pm

Well 5 minutes are really great, but superchargers aren’t good for the health of the battery, so it’s not that you can do it whenever you want.

It’s funny when people advertise the fast charging in EV cars, they forget to mention that.

@ridhobaihaqi144 April 7, 2025 - 2:14 pm

Chinese car hyperfans from indonesia's top idol!

😂😂😂😂😂

@NIALLY92 April 7, 2025 - 2:14 pm

Yeah it's not Tesla that has to be worried it's legacy auto. Another hit piece from CNBS on Tesla. Utter rubbish.. utter drivel.

@daljotsingh4918 April 7, 2025 - 2:14 pm

This Canadian has no incentive to buy American any more. It's pure commerce at this point. Hope that wasn't the case, but Trump drew the last straw for me and many fellow Canucks.

@charlesdean03 April 7, 2025 - 2:14 pm

Bro CNBC is such a nice Fake news outlet the same people who used to kiss behind of tesla now as the guy is in another political area…. Also BYD is known for exploding batteries just google the things in china. Do you want to take a chance? But hey I would be fine with my japanese car cause they dont have any skin in this nonsense! GMC needs to get their head straight and Ford they are already taken a hit they got rid of hybrid now crying why did they do it SMH!

@darkstar_-hi6wp April 7, 2025 - 2:14 pm

You can blame Bush & Cheny on the whole going all in on gas & oil. That was there biggest focus other than 9/11, drill, drill, drill was there motto. That's when America first started going down the drain and getting behind other countries in technology was during their presidency.

@martiruda April 7, 2025 - 2:14 pm

byd is the king. well done china.

@AATV-GJ April 7, 2025 - 2:14 pm

@cac1504 April 7, 2025 - 2:14 pm

Bye bye Tesla.

@andrewsuryali8540 April 7, 2025 - 2:14 pm

Some Chinese analysts are predicting that a "sweet spot" situation is about to emerge that will allow Chinese car companies to start selling in the US. The Chinese car industry innovates on an 18-month cycle, which is significantly faster than any US automaker. However, the Chinese government doesn't allow their companies to build factories abroad with up-to-date technology. The obvious solution is to make a two-tier production infrastructure taking advantage of the US manufacturers' stagnation. If Chinese manufacturers can get two innovation cycles ahead of the US ones, they can in theory start producing cars from the last innovation cycle in the US (which doesn't violate Chinese gov't ban on tech transfer) while still outcompeting any US manufacturer on technology and cost. So the Chinese market gets the most up-to-date models and everyone else gets cars from 18 months ago. In some countries (other than the US) Chinese manufacturers can probably strike a deal to sell both generations at the same time (Toyota does this in most of SEA).

@chevindivakara6275 April 7, 2025 - 2:14 pm

The fast charging infrastructure will be equipped in their cars with the price ranging from 35,000$ onwards
