Back in 1999, my son was being treated for leukemia at Children's hospital in Seattle. He got to MAKE A WISH, which was to be on MTV. We were sent to NYC, stayed in Times square, the Hilton. Across the street was a tiny little restaurant/bar/venue, with AWB on the marquee. Long time fan, I checked it out..
The crew was setting up for the evening show. I was looking through the door, and someone said, MAY I HELP YOU????. I told them about why I was there, and they said, HAVE A SEAT.
So, I did. To my ultimate surprise, the band came out and played Pick up the Pieces, I was the only one there, and I knew it was a sound check, but, HEY, that's something I will remember forever. Total bliss. OH. and BTW, my son survived leukemia, and is still alive today. and I still LOVE AWB.
All the very best to you Alan and I'm sure you are far from done in the music scene. All the best to you from your home town of Perth.
I hope the Average white band enjoy themselves in the 313.
